Author: Kristýna Pikalová Title: A systematic review of the literature on the 800 m running discipline in athletics Supervisor: odb.as. Aleš Kaplan Aims: The present paper presents a systematic review of the czech and slovak literature investigating issues associated with training and preparation for 800m run. Having reviewed such issues, this paper also offers an insight into how runners can develop specific endurance for 800m runs. Method: The present paper attempted to gather and analyse all available literature on preparation and training for 800m runs. Furthermore, literary search was conducted to find all information relating to preparation and training for 800m runs. Results: This paper created an overview of all available thesis on the problems associated with training and preparation for 800m. This systematic review included 41 papers which were divided into clearly organised tables. Additionally, a brief overview of factors that influence performance of athletes in 800m runs was created. Finally, a critical evaluation of the papers included in the present work was conducted with the aim to give recommendations for future training practice of 800m based on notions on which profesional publications included in this review agreed. Key words: athletics, sports training, middle distance...
Athletic training. Personal performance development and training.
Broda, Michal ; Vindušková, Jitka (advisor) ; Krátký, Petr (referee)
Athletic training. Personal performance development and training. Objectives: The aim of this study was to analyze performance development and training of Michal Broda during his existing athletic career with focus on training after year 2004. We investigated the use of heart rate monitoring for training optimization. We also discussed training adequacy in terms of annual training cycle. Methods: In our work we used empirical methods of pedagogical research. We obtained different qualitative and quantitative indicators from training documentation and analysed them using mathematical and statistical methods. Heart rate data were proccessed with Polar Precision Performance™ software. This software automatically calculates total loads in each metabolic zone, number of training entries and total training time, elapsed distance, burned calories, total power, speed, maximum and minimum heart rate. Results: We came to a conclusion that Michal Broda's training has been continually improving. We observed a training load increase in both general and specific indicators. We didn't confirm a positive relationship between total distance runned for special endurance and 800-m running performance. Heart rate monitoring helped to find optimal training loads and thus improve running performance. Keywords: 800 meter...
Pedagogical evaluation of the annual training program 800m runner in 2010 and 2011.
Novák, Michal ; Kaplan, Aleš (advisor) ; Vindušková, Jitka (referee)
Name of the thesis: Pedagogical evaluation of the annual training program 800m runner in 2010 and 2011. Author: Bc. Michal Novák Tutor: odb. as. Aleš Kaplan Aims of the thesis: A descriptive analysis of a two years-long training cycles from the perspective of the different training means, load characteristics and the relations between the sport performance and its efficiency. Methodology: In this thesis the method of pedagogical evaluation using the qualitative analysis of the training documents was applied. Results: Using tempo and special endurance throughout the racing season was achieved maximum efficiency in both monitored zones. Despite his health problems, the racer achieved his personal bests during the second season (2011), which was reached by improving the section of his speed and very through rehabilitation, which facilitated his quick comeback after the injury Key words: pedagogical evaluation, qualitative analysis, 800m run, general training index, special training index
800 meters elite runner training analysis

Abstract Title: 800 meters elite runner training analysis Objectives: The main goal of my thesis deals with pedagogical evaluation of 800 meters elite runner training process. It concerns analysis of teoretical background esential for the performance growth of the two annual macrocycles through 2007/2008 and 2008/2009. I mainly focused on the relationship between the volumes of general and specific training indicators and achieved performance indicator in tracked event. The conslusion of the work should provide us with recommendations for the training process improvement in future periods. Methods: The education analysis of training process is based on the values that were obtained by content analysis of training documents and training records of the coach. I used a percentage expression for a quantitative comparison. For the qualitative comparison I used a distribution of training indicators devided into 17 categories, 5 as indicators of general training and 12 as special indicators. Results: The growth of sports performance in 800 meters discipline was primarily achieved by training loads of special training indicators and focus on its main field. The resulting performance was most influenced by changes in speed and special endurance development, which were supported by the growth of tempo and...
Training and abilities of junior athletes
Dubský, Petr ; Vindušková, Jitka (advisor) ; Kaplan, Aleš (referee)
Objective: Training and abilities of junior athletes Prepared by: Bc. Petr Dubský Supervisor: PaedDr. Jitka Vindušková, CSc. The aim of the work: The aim of the work was to find out the level of performance preconditions of two junior runners on the middle tracks, analyze the structure and content of their training, their performance in selected tests and the development of performance in their main disciplines. Methodology: The work has the character of a two-case study. Methods of literature search, analysis, comparison and evaluation were used. The analysis of training records and competition results of two athletes from the 2017 season was used to compile this work. I analyzed their performances in individual seasons. I also performed an analysis of training records, where general and special training indicators were evaluated and compared with the results of similar analyzes of other athletes. I analyzed the results of two tests in the biochemical laboratory, which we completed during the preparation for the 2017 season. Conclusion: When comparing the training records with the professional literature and with selected athletes, we come to the conclusion that the training load was insufficient for the monitored athletes. As a result, they could not achieve better results this season. By...
Training and abilities of two junior athletes
Dubský, Petr ; Vindušková, Jitka (advisor) ; Kaplan, Aleš (referee)
Objective: Training and abilities of two junior athletes Prepared by: Bc. Petr Dubský Supervisor: PaedDr. Jitka Vindušková, CSc. The aim of the work: The aim of the work was to determine the level of performance of selected members of the training group, namely two juniors. To analyze the structure and content of their training, their performance in selected tests, and performance development in their main disciplines. Methodology: The analysis of the competitive results from 2012 to 2017 was used to analyze the performance of the individual seasons. I also analyzed the training records, where general and special training indicators were evaluated and compared with the results of similar analyzes of other athletes. I will also analyze the three measurements we have completed with the whole training group. Conclusion: The result shows that the training load in selected athletes, either according to literature or in comparison with other athletes, is insufficient in both individuals. After evaluating testing, I concluded that the test types were wrongly selected. This work has confirmed the importance of keeping track of the training records.
